Wiesbaden, October 2025 – Grape variety specialist Fürst von Metternich is expanding its portfolio with a sparkling non-alcoholic variant: with the launch of Fürst von Metternich Riesling alcohol-free, the brand is presenting a stylish alternative for sparkling non-alcoholic enjoyment for the first time and, as the market leader in the German premium sparkling wine segment, is bringing new momentum to the non-alcoholic category in the German market.
In dark royal blue, Fürst von Metternich Riesling alcohol-free promises a stylish alternative with a distinctive signature: high-quality, elegant, and sensually sophisticated. “With Fürst von Metternich Riesling alcohol-free, we are positioning ourselves in a forward-looking market segment with strategic relevance,” says Maren Lahm, CMO Henkell Freixenet Germany. “The high-quality packaging in elegant blue ensures differentiation at the POS and underlines the brand’s high quality and premium standards, even in the alcohol-free segment.”
The Riesling grape forms the basis for this new product. It is matured in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine is gently dealcoholised. Production is based on a newly developed process that combines classic vacuum distillation with targeted aroma recovery. The result is a product whose taste is reminiscent of the typical profile of the grape variety.

Fürst von Metternich Riesling alcohol-free impresses with its light lemon-yellow color, silver reflections, and intense effervescence. The nose reveals subtle aromas of apple, grapefruit, and fresh grass. A fine mousse and a balanced sweetness-acidity interplay round off the harmonious taste experience. On the palate, fruity notes of apple and pear are complemented by fresh citrus notes, creating a perfectly balanced overall impression – inspired by the classic Riesling character.
