Budenheim Unites Additive Chemistry and Masterbatch Activities in the Netherlands
QolorTech, acquired in 2020, builds on more than 40 years of experience in color, black, white, and additive masterbatches, alongside expertise in recyclability. Its compounding assets and application laboratories strengthen Budenheim’s polymer capabilities. Together, these capabilities differentiate Budenheim as a fully integrated additive-masterbatch provider, enabling the direct translation of additive technologies into application-ready polymer applications.
The integration is anchored in the Global Application Center for Polymers in Vaassen. It serves as the central hub for masterbatch formulation, additive technologies, and application testing. Budenheim focuses its polymer activities on the development, validation, and qualification of customer-specific formulations unified at one place.
For customers, this translates into:
- Broader portfolio of additives and functional masterbatches
- Shorter development and qualification processes
- Unified technical service and application testing
- Ongoing sustainability and regulatory‑compliance support
The Global Application Center accelerates innovation activities in areas, including BUDIT® L for laser marking, BUDIT® F for endothermic foaming, EPSOLUTE® technologies for polymerization control, and conductive masterbatches.
“The integration of QolorTech is a key milestone in the evolution of our polymer business,” said Noelia Mansilla, Executive Vice President, Division Material Science at Budenheim. “By bringing additive chemistry, masterbatch formulation, and application testing into one central hub, we enable our customers to develop and qualify their polymer materials faster, with greater performance confidence and regulatory clarity.”
“This unified business positions Budenheim to drive the next generation of sustainable polymer materials. By pairing safe chemistry with recyclable, near-infrared-sortable, and lightweight formulations, Budenheim delivers products designed for polymer markets, which are subject to increasing regulatory and sustainability demands,” added Enrique Méndez, Vice President Marketing, Division Material Science.
